WHAT'S INSIDE

• Clean Girl (£18) — crisp linen and soft florals. Top notes of blackcurrant, grapefruit and orange; lily of the valley, jasmine and rose in the middle; vanilla, cedar and musk underneath. The everyday one.
• Wildflower Haze (£18) — fresh and dewy to open, then a floral bouquet with earthy undertones. Bergamot and citrus; iris, orange blossom and jasmine; musk, sandalwood and amber.
• Vanilla Afterglow (£18) — warm and soft for evenings. Bergamot and orange; amber, tonka and sandalwood; vanilla and musk.

Solid perfume passed our filter for a simple reason: it's fragrance without the alcohol, so it doesn't dry the skin or vanish within the hour, and there's no glass bottle to break in a bag. Tenth Muse make theirs with shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax, in refillable magnetic compacts. We picked these three because together they cover a whole week — fresh, floral, warm — and because they're the three people reorder.

THINGS TO KNOW

• The three balms are supplied in their individual magnetic compacts, not in a presentation box as pictured.
• Alcohol-free and cruelty-free. Contains beeswax, so not vegan.
• Each balm lasts around three months with two swipes a day.
• Shelf life 12 months. Store away from direct heat.
• Compacts are refillable and fit the Tenth Muse palette (sold separately).

HOW TO USE

Warm the balm with a fingertip and press onto wrists, neck or behind the ears. Reapply through the day as you like — the scent sits close to the skin rather than filling a room.
